Mack Aims Pioneer at Longhaul Segment
Mack Trucks is set to launch its new truck model, the Pioneer, with initial production starting in late 2024 and ramping up in 2025. The development process for this model has been extensive, taking nearly seven years, during which there were several pilot builds initiated 3.5 years ago. Gunnar Brunius, the vice president of Mack’s Lehigh Valley Operations, expressed excitement about the advancements made with the Pioneer compared to the Anthem model, highlighting improvements in efficiency and assembly processes. The workforce consists of 2,500 employees across shifts with an additional 500 maintenance workers, underscoring the company’s commitment to balancing safety and productivity.
