Nevoya Raises $9.3 Million in Backing for Expansion Plans

Published: July 23, 2025
Nevoya, a California-based carrier focused on battery-electric trucks and an AI-driven transportation management system (TMS), recently secured $9.3 million in seed funding to support its expansion efforts. The investment was led by Lowercarbon Capital, along with contributions from new and existing venture firms. The company intends to scale its fleet to 100 battery-electric trucks over the next year while expanding operations in California, Texas, and Arizona.

Nevoya’s strategic approach emphasizes short-haul operations, which they believe are particularly suited for electrification. The company will participate in NACFE's Run on Less program to demonstrate the efficiency and feasibility of alternative-fuel vehicles and the associated charging infrastructure.

CEO Sami Khan highlighted the unique customer-centric strategy of Nevoya, which aims to integrate deeply with clients to enhance service delivery while reducing emissions and costs. This focus on a demand-driven, self-sufficient model sets it apart from competitors reliant on subsidies. Nevoya anticipates that shifting policies could strengthen its market position, as more companies pursue their own net-zero goals independently of regulatory mandates.

In transportation, the growing emphasis on sustainability is becoming a core competitive factor for carriers. Companies that integrate innovative technologies and embrace environmentally friendly practices can enhance their operational resilience and customer loyalty. As the industry evolves, investments in infrastructure for electric and alternative-fuel vehicles will be essential to support broader adoption, making partnerships for charging networks like Greenlane crucial for companies like Nevoya. This proactive stance indicates a potential paradigm shift in logistics toward cleaner, more efficient solutions, enabling carriers to thrive amid shifting regulatory landscapes and market demands.
