Alaska Airlines' New Boeing 787 First Class Experience

Alaska Airlines was in a unique spot when I started working for the company in 2017. The Virgin America merger was being wrapped up, and the small West Coast carrier was starting to show that it could push back against Delta in Seattle.

The airline's fleet transition was marked by the retirement of Bombardier Q-400s and Airbus A320 family aircraft, with 737s becoming a staple of its operations.

The arrival of Alaska Airlines' new Boeing 787 first class has brought a significant upgrade to the carrier's premium offerings.

Our journey begins at Portland International Airport (PDX), which has undergone a transformation into a modern hub.

The airport's interior design is a notable feature, with my mom commenting on its stunning architecture.

After security, we board a Horizon Air E-175, which provides a glimpse into the airline's efforts to enhance passenger experience.

We then proceed to the Alaska Lounge at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport, where we are treated to a premium atmosphere and exceptional amenities.

The newly planted 787 first class aircraft is a sight to behold, with its unique Aurora Borealis livery capturing the essence of Alaska's natural beauty.

As we board the aircraft, we are greeted by friendly staff and welcomed into our spacious business class seats.
