Summer RV Tech Training on the Horizon

The RV industry is experiencing a surge in popularity, and with it, an increased need for skilled technicians. To address this growing demand, Navarro College has partnered with the RV Technical Institute (RVTI) to offer RV technician training this summer.

This intensive two-week program is specifically designed to prepare students for the service bay of an RV dealership. By combining technical skills with safety and professionalism, RVTI and Navarro College aim to equip technicians with the knowledge and expertise required to excel in this field.

The program's curriculum focuses on the foundational knowledge needed to become a RVTI Level 1 Certified Technician, including propane, electrical, plumbing, and appliances. Students will also receive hands-on training with fifth wheels and travel trailers to prepare them for the nationally recognized certification exam.

In addition to technical skills, the program emphasizes the importance of workplace 'soft skills,' such as professionalism, computer skills, and writing repair orders. This comprehensive approach ensures that graduates are not only skilled technicians but also equipped to succeed in a professional setting.

The 80-hour program is divided into two weeks, with Week One dedicated to RVTI Level 1 curriculum and Week Two covering topics such as basic computer skills, OSHA certification, customer service, and workplace communication.

For those interested in pursuing an RV technician career, this summer's program offers a unique opportunity to gain the necessary training and certification. With a program cost of $1,200, students can secure their place in the industry with a comprehensive education.

Registration is currently open for two-week blocks, with sessions starting on June 8th and July 13th. Applications are due two weeks prior to start dates, ensuring that interested individuals can secure a spot in this highly sought-after program.

By partnering with RVTI, Navarro College is providing aspiring RV technicians with the tools they need to succeed in this growing industry. As the demand for skilled technicians continues to rise, it's essential that students receive comprehensive training and education.
