TT Delays Continue

The 2026 Isle of Man TT has experienced its third delay in as many days, with the revised race schedule confirmed by organizers. The latest delay is due to low clouds and deteriorating weather conditions, which have forced a one-hour postponement of the Superstock class race. This brings the total number of delays to two, with the first occurring on Saturday when the race was postponed due to similar weather conditions.

The revised schedule now has Roads closing at 12:00pm BST, with the Supersport race starting at 14:00, one hour later than originally planned. This change is expected to allow for better racing conditions, despite forecast showers affecting the Mountain section of the Course.

TT organizers have confirmed that no further rain is forecast this morning and into the afternoon, which may improve conditions enough for a 4-lap Monster Energy Supersport TT Race 1 to commence at 14:00. However, it remains to be seen whether these improved conditions will last throughout the entire race.

The Mountain Road is now scheduled to close at 13:00, with all roads closed at 15:00. This change in schedule may impact the racing experience for competitors and spectators alike.

Despite the delays, Honda Racing UK's Dean Harrison remains a heavy favorite to win the Superbike TT, having dominated the six-lap race on Sunday. He created a gap of nearly 30 seconds over Peter Hickman by the start of the final lap before claiming victory by 15.580 seconds.

Harrison's impressive performance has set him up for success in today's action, but other competitors such as Michael Dunlop will not be intimidated. The three-lap racing distance for both Sportbike and Superstock races may prove to be a challenge for some riders.

TT organizers have decided not to use Monday's contingency session as a slot for the Superstock race, giving riders and teams a day off before today's action. This decision has been made to ensure that competitors are well-rested and prepared for the racing ahead.

The Isle of Man TT is known for its unpredictable weather conditions, which can have a significant impact on the racing experience. Organizers must carefully balance the need for safety with the desire to provide an exciting competition for spectators.

Racing will continue on Wednesday before the final rest day of this year's event. The action will resume on Friday ahead of the Senior TT on Saturday, which is the final race day of the 2026 Isle of Man TT.
