Porsche has set a new Nürburggring record with its Taycan Turbo GT driven by Lars Kern, achieving a lap time of 6:55.533 minutes.
This makes it the fastest four-door electric car on the circuit, breaking its own previous record by 12 seconds.
The previous record for the fastest production electric vehicle was held by the Chinese-made BYD Yangwang U9 Extreme, which recorded a time of 6:59.157 in August 2025.

Other top contenders for this achievement include the Xiaomi SU7 Ultra and the now-record-setting Porsche Taycan Turbo GT.
The Tesla Model S Plaid with the optional Track Package achieved a Nürburggring Nordschleife lap time of 7:25.23 in 2023, but was surpassed by the Taycan Turbo GT.
Porsche's Manthey Kit plays a crucial role in the car's exceptional performance, featuring extensive aerodynamic, suspension, and powertrain modifications.

The kit increases downforce by more than three times compared to the standard car, enabling higher cornering speeds.
With the Manthey Kit, the Taycan Turbo GT has become an even more formidable competitor on the Nürburggring circuit.
This achievement marks a significant milestone in the development of high-performance EVs and demonstrates Porsche's commitment to innovation and excellence.
