Emirates is synonymous with Dubai, hosting its primary hub and headquarters at Dubai International Airport. The airline operates over 3,600 flights each week from its Terminal 3 hub, making it one of the busiest airports in the world. This dominance has drawn criticism, with some arguing that Emirates has an unfair advantage in the aviation sector.
The airline's commitment to Dubai stems from its ownership being the government of Dubai's Investment Corporation of Dubai. Founded in March 1985 with backing from Dubai's ruler, Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Emirates has grown into a major player in the global aviation industry.
As part of its expansion efforts, Emirates recently announced plans to introduce flights to new destinations in Asia and Europe. The airline is set to add Shenzhen in China, Da Nang in Vietnam, and Siem Reap in Cambodia to its network, increasing its total number of destinations served in Asia and the Pacific.

These additional routes will further stretch Dubai International Airport's capacity, raising concerns about the airport's ability to handle the increased demand. Emirates' expansion is part of a larger trend in the aviation industry, with airlines looking to tap into growing markets and increase their global presence.
In addition to its new destinations, Emirates has also announced a reciprocal codeshare partnership with Condor. This agreement aims to enhance travel options for both airlines' customers, giving Emirates passengers access to 11 additional destinations from cities currently served by the UAE carrier.
Condor customers can now book flights from Dubai using the Emirates website or other online platforms. The airline's 757-300s will be used to operate these new routes, marking a significant expansion of Condor's network.

The partnership with Condor is part of Emirates' efforts to increase connectivity and competition in the aviation industry. By working together, the two airlines aim to offer their customers more travel options and better fares.
Meanwhile, Emirates has also signed a codeshare agreement with Air Seychelles, allowing customers to seamlessly connect between Dubai and the Indian Ocean region. This partnership will enhance travel options for passengers traveling to and from the islands of Mahé and Praslin.
